Xbox to get 1 terrabyte drive soon?
Speculation is on the rise about downloadable games to our consoles. Microsoft wants to offer simultaneous digital and
retail releases and developers want this too. After all with the new dashboard announced this weekend by Major Nelson it's only a matter of time, and hardrive space. Here's what he had to say - "Whatever we call it, and it's not going to be called the NNXE, but whatever the next version of the dashboard is called, it's better with a lot of very cool new features."
"We are making the guide faster," - Major Nelson
I can only hope it gets faster and more intuitive, some days it's a total nightmare navigating through the tiles.
The cost of a 120g Xbox hardrive is waaay outrageous compared to portable USB hardrive devices. This leaves only one obstacle in the way for digital downloads of new games, the cost of the hard drive. If Microsoft can offer an inexpensive 1TB hardrive then game downloads might have a chance, but I cannot see paying another $200-$300 dollars for a drive to download games too when I could spend that money on games. The only viable option would be a bundled option maybe the new Natal system.
Would you pay for 1TB drive for downloadable games?
